Smoked prunes
Description
A tasty appetizer for any gathering. I'll tell you how to make smoked prunes at home. You end up with a very tasty preserve—if, of course, you love a tart bite, because the plums become much tangier during drying and smoking. So add these "dried fruits" to dishes carefully, optionally, just a few at a time. And, by the way, this preserve pairs best with pilaf! I recommend it. Serve the appetizer at the table.

Step 1

1. Wash the plums, cut them in half, and remove the pits. Make a syrup — boil water with sugar, then reduce the heat, add the plums, and bring to a boil again. Drain, place the plums on a baking sheet, and sprinkle with sugar.

Step 2

2. Next, smoke or dry the plums in a dehydrator or in the oven.

Step 3

3. Dry the plums in three stages, 12 hours each, with breaks of the same length. And that's the whole trick!
