Smoked ribs
Description
Suitable for both holidays and everyday meals. Cooking smoked ribs at home is actually quite simple. If you don’t have a smoker, you can still follow this recipe and make the ribs in the oven. It’s best to bake them in a roasting sleeve, but you can also simply place them on a rack. Serve with herbs and sauce.

Step 1

1. The recipe for smoked ribs begins with a marinade, which should be prepared 10–12 hours before the main process. In a deep bowl or any other container, place the washed and dried ribs. Peel and chop the onions and garlic. Add vegetable oil, vinegar, and honey. Dilute the tomato paste with water (about 100 milliliters) and add it to the ribs. Add pepper, basil, coriander, cumin, and basil. If desired, you can add a little fresh herbs. Refrigerate for at least 10 hours so the ribs are thoroughly infused with the marinade.

2. If desired, during this time you can turn the ribs 1–2 times so the marinade is absorbed evenly.

Step 3

3. The smoker needs to be preheated in advance. You can sprinkle a little sawdust on the bottom—this will give the ribs an extra aroma.

Step 4

4. Pour in the beer, about 250 milliliters, and place the rack with the ribs.

5. Cover with a lid and place over low heat. For the smoked ribs to cook properly at home, it will take about 3 hours. If the heat is too high, the ribs may dry out or simply burn. You can check doneness with a knife—the ribs should be completely tender. They can be served as a main dish or as a snack with beer, for example.
