Canned nectarines

120 min4 serv.21 февр. 2026 г.

Description

Winter preserve made at home. Nectarines are a variety of peach. They are sweeter and more diet-friendly, so even people on strict diets can eat them. Nectarines are rich in vitamin C and fiber, contain fructose, support metabolism, and improve skin condition. Canned nectarines are wonderful in various desserts, as a garnish and filling for baked goods. They are delicious straight from the jar, and the syrup can be used like compote. By the way, I recommend trying canned nectarines as a side for pan-fried beef liver. Store the jars for up to a year in a cool place.

    1. Rinse the nectarines. Halve them and remove the pits. Sprinkle with lemon juice so the nectarines do not discolor. Pack the nectarines into sterilized jars.

    2. Make a syrup from water and sugar. Pour the sugar into the water, set over medium heat and, stirring, wait until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil (bubbles).

    3. Pour the syrup into the jars with nectarines. Then cover with lids (do not seal yet!) and sterilize for 25 minutes. Seal the jars and turn them upside down on a blanket until cool. Don't forget to wrap them. Store in a dark place.
