
Gooseberry compote for winter
Description
The compote stores well in a cool, dark place. It's best to make the compote from green gooseberries; red berries will give a more intense color. Can be served.

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making "Tarragon" gooseberry compote for winter. Wash the jar and lid thoroughly, sterilize the jar, and boil the lid over medium heat for 5 minutes. Rinse the berries and tarragon, then let the water drain off.

Place the gooseberries in a jar.

Add tarragon sprigs to the berries.

Pour boiling water into the jar, cover with a lid, and let stand for 10 minutes.

Pour the liquid into a saucepan, add sugar and citric acid. Mix everything and bring to a boil, then cook for two minutes.

Pour the syrup into the jar with gooseberries and tarragon to the very top and seal tightly. Wrap the jar of compote and leave until completely cooled.
