The recipe won't take much time. The cherry, strawberry, and currant compote turns out quite rich; you can even dilute it slightly before serving. You can serve the compote chilled or warm—it pairs perfectly with any baked goods or simply as a drink for a festive table.

    Prepare the ingredients.

    Be sure to wash all the berries and check them, making sure there are no spoiled ones.

    Remove the stems from the strawberries.

    Jars (2 pcs of 0.5 liters each) for the preserve should be thoroughly washed with baking soda, then well rinsed under warm running water. Sterilize the jars and lids using your preferred method—over steam, in the oven, or in the microwave. Afterwards, place the berries into the jars.

    On the stove, bring clean water to a boil, pour the boiling water into a jar, cover the mouth of the jar with a lid, and let it sit for 10 minutes. After that, pour the water back into a saucepan, bring it to a boil again, and return it to the jar; let it sit for another 10 minutes.

    Again, pour the water back into the saucepan, add granulated sugar, and boil the compote for 2 minutes.

    Return the fragrant and tasty compote to the jars with the steamed berries.

    Seal the jars of compote tightly with sterile lids and place them upside down. Cover the preserves with a warm blanket or cloth and leave undisturbed for 24 hours. After this time, transfer the preserves to the pantry.
