Grape and apple compote for winter
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The ingredient quantities are given for a 1-liter jar. If you want to prepare the drink in 2- or 3-liter containers, simply multiply the ingredient amounts accordingly. Instead of citric acid, you can use lemon juice. You can use any grape variety, but the tastiest compote is made from white grapes. Serve and enjoy.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Boil the kettle with water in advance.
- 2
Step 2

Remove the grape berries from the stems, rinse them in water, and place them into a clean, washed container.
- 3
Step 3

Wash the apples, cut each one into four parts, and remove the cores. Slice each quarter and add to the container with the grapes.
- 4
Step 4

Pour boiling water into the jar to the top, placing a knife or a small board under it so that it doesn't crack. Cover with a metal lid and let it steam for about 7-8 minutes.
- 5
Step 5

Then pour the liquid into a saucepan and bring to a boil again, and add sugar and citric acid into the jar. Optionally, you can add the sugar and acid directly into the boiling liquid in the saucepan to create a syrup.
- 6
Step 6

Pour boiling liquid over the steamed berries and fruits in the jar, filling it to the top.
- 7
Step 7

Immediately seal using a canning key or twist the lid onto the threads. Let the preserve cool, then transfer it to the storage place.
- 8
Step 8

The shelf life of the compote is 1 year. If desired, after opening, it can be heated and enjoyed warm during winter.
