Pumpkin and orange compote for winter
Description
To make pumpkin and orange compote for winter, take a large ripe pumpkin, a couple of juicy oranges, two cinnamon sticks, 6 cloves, water, and sugar. I've seen a recipe with vinegar added, but I'm not particularly fond of it in compotes. The amount of sugar depends on your taste preferences; if the pumpkin is sweet, you won't need much. The drink is ready to serve.
Instructions

Step 1

Peel the pumpkin, remove all the seeds, and cut the flesh into cubes. Pour water into a saucepan, add sugar, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat. Simmer the sugar syrup for another 10 minutes after boiling. Then add the pumpkin to the syrup.

Step 2

Simmer for about 5-10 minutes. Then add the spices and orange juice.

Step 3

If desired, you can also add orange pulp. Cook for about 15 minutes.

Step 4

Then let the compote cool. Pour it into clean jars. Close the jars, turn them upside down, and after 24 hours you can move them to a cool place.

Step 5

You can experiment with pumpkin compote by adding fruits other than oranges. This compote stores very well until winter.
