Take a saucepan that can hold five liters of water. Pour in purified drinking water and place it over high heat. Add sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

Any dried fruits will work for this compote, depending on your taste. For example, use apples, prunes, dried apricots, pears, plums, raisins. Place them in a colander and rinse thoroughly under running water. Then add the dried fruits to a saucepan with boiling water.

Wash the lemon and cut it into small slices. Remove any seeds if present. Add the lemon to the pot with the dried fruits and reduce the heat to the minimum.
