To remove the fuzz from peaches, dissolve 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 liter of water. Soak the peaches in the resulting solution for half an hour, then rinse thoroughly.

Cut the peaches in half, remove the pits, and slice into quarters.

Fill a sterilized clean jar one-third full with peaches.

Pour hot water into the jar. Cover the jar with a lid (do not screw it on) and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

Carefully pour the water from the jar into a saucepan. Add sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1-2 minutes, until the sugar is completely dissolved. At the end, add citric acid.
