Quince compote
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The fruit itself is quite tart, so making compote from it alone won't work. Whenever I cook it, I always add other berries or fruits. This time I had strawberries and cherries. Apples, cherries, raspberries, plums, blackberries, and others are also excellent choices. The resulting drink will have a delicate, pleasant taste with a lovely aroma. Serve chilled.
Instructions

Step 1

1. First, I prepare the fruits: I wash the kumquats in hot water and cut them in half.

Step 2

2. I sort through the cherries to make sure there are no spoiled berries, then wash them; the pits can be left in.

Step 3

3. I remove the stems from the strawberries and wash them; if the berries are large, I cut them into pieces, and if they are small, I leave them whole.

Step 4

4. Pour water into a saucepan and bring to a boil, then add the prepared berries and granulated sugar. Cook for 5-10 minutes after boiling, then cover with a lid, turn off the heat, and let the compote steep for 1 hour.
