Pear compote
Description
I preserve compote in 1-liter jars, which need to be sterilized in advance, as well as the lids. I've indicated the ingredient quantities for 2 one-liter jars. Generally, there's one simple rule for all compotes—fill jars one-third full. No matter what container you use for preserving, even without scales, fill them one-third full, add sugar to taste, and the amount of water is individual, depending on how much fits into the jar. Check out the recipe and show off your preserves. Good luck!
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the pears, sugar, water, sterilized jars, and lids. Let's get started!
- 2
Step 2

Wash the pears thoroughly, cut them into quarters, and remove the cores.
- 3
Step 3

Place 300 grams of pears into each sterile one-liter jar.
- 4
Step 4

Place 4 tablespoons of sugar each. You can adjust the amount of sugar to your taste. If the pears are very sweet, you can add a pinch (a knife tip) of citric acid.
- 5
Step 5

Pour boiling water over the jars with pears; the amount is individual. Cover with lids and let stand for 20 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Drain the water from the pears into a saucepan from both cans.
- 7
Step 7

Bring the water to a boil and pour it again over the jars with pears. Seal the jars.
- 8
Step 8

Turn the jars upside down and leave them until completely cooled. In the morning, turn them right side up and store in the pantry for long-term storage.
