Compote from dates and apples
Description
In this recipe, pay attention to the addition of sugar. Dates vary in sweetness, so adjust the amount of sugar accordingly. In my case, 5 tablespoons were enough. You can preserve the date and apple compote for later use. I'll share more about that in the recipe. The drink is ready to serve.
Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Step 2

Wash the dates thoroughly under running water. Remove the pits. Transfer to a saucepan. Pour in 2 liters of cold water. Place over medium heat. Heat until boiling, then cook for 10 minutes.

Step 3

While the dates are boiling, prepare the apples. Wash and slice them thinly.
- 4
Step 4

After the cooking time for the dates has elapsed, add apple slices and sugar. Bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes.

Step 5

After the specified time, remove the compote from heat. If you want to preserve the drink for later, add citric acid after the apples have finished cooking. Bring to a boil. Immediately pour into prepared sterilized hot jars. Seal, turn upside down, wrap with a blanket, and let cool in this position. Store the finished compote in a cool place. The given quantity is calculated for a 2-liter jar.
