Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients for making the compote.
- 2
Step 2

Sort the berries, removing stems and leaves.
- 3
Step 3

Then rinse the blackcurrants and drain in a colander to remove excess water.
- 4
Step 4

Wash a 3-liter jar and rinse it with very warm water so that it warms up slightly. This is necessary to prevent the glass from cracking when pouring boiling water. Place the berries into the jar.
- 5
Step 5

Separately bring the water to a boil.
- 6
Step 6

Gradually and carefully pour boiling water into the jar.
- 7
Step 7

Fill to the very top. Cover with a lid and let stand for 13-15 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

Then close the jar with a lid for draining the liquid. Drain everything into a saucepan.
- 9
Step 9

Add sugar to the drained water and place over heat. Bring to a boil. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Simmer for one minute.
- 10
Step 10

Pour the boiling syrup over the berries in the jar, filling it to the very top. Screw on the lid.
- 11
Step 11

Turn the jar upside down and check for airtightness. Then wrap it in a warm blanket and leave until completely cooled.
- 12
Step 12

Enjoy your winter treat!
