Blueberry compote for winter storage
Description
For preparing blueberry compote for winter, I use 30 grams of sugar per liter. The berries themselves are not very tart, so I use a small amount of sugar; if you prefer a sweeter compote, you can add more. Check the recipe. Ready to serve.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Freshly picked blueberries need to be sorted, removing the numerous leaves that come mixed in with the berries. Rinse.
- 2
Step 2

Prepare the sugar syrup in advance: add sugar and a little citric acid to water and bring to a boil.
- 3
Step 3

While the syrup is being prepared, place the prepared berries into previously sterilized jars. Boil the lids.
- 4
Step 4

Pour hot sugar syrup into the jars. Place a special jar rack or a clean cloth folded several times at the bottom of the pot in which the compote will be sterilized. Put the jar on the rack.
- 5
Step 5

Cover the container with a lid and sterilize the liter jar in boiling water for about 8 minutes, then seal it.
- 6
Step 6

Blueberry compote for winter is ready.
