Apple compote made with whole apples

Description

It is advisable to taste the apples before making the compote to determine the required amount of sugar. The preserve stores well in a cool place and has a shelf life of 1 year. These apples, if not eaten when opening the jar, can be used to make pie fillings. The drink is ready to serve.

    Wash the apples in water and fill a clean jar with them. If desired, you can increase the amount of ingredients if you are using 2- or 3-liter containers.

    Bring water to a boil in a kettle and pour it into the jar to the top. Cover the jar with a metal lid and let it steam for 15 minutes. If the apples are large, repeat this steaming process twice to ensure the boiling water reaches the center of the fruit; otherwise, the compote may ferment.
