White grape compote for winter storage
Description
The ingredient measurements are given for a 1-liter container. If you have a harvest of white grapes, be sure to make a fragrant compote from them, sealing the drink in jars for winter. You'll need very few ingredients and minimal effort, as the compote is prepared without cooking. Serve chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Taste the grapes to determine how much sugar to add. If they are sweet, use the specified amount; if not sweet, increase the quantity.
- 2
Step 2

Remove the berries from the clusters and put them into a deep container, then rinse them in water.
- 3
Step 3

Put the berries into a clean one-liter jar. Boil water and pour the boiling water into the jar. Cover with a lid and let it steam for about 5 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

After the specified time, pour the warm water into a saucepan and bring it to a boil again. Add granulated sugar and citric acid to the jar.
- 5
Step 5

Pour boiling water into the jar and immediately screw the lid on tightly by hand or using a canning key. Turn the jar upside down and shake well to dissolve the sugar. Leave to cool at room temperature.

Step 6

Transfer the cooled preparation to a pantry, cellar, or garage until winter.
