Apricot compote

Prepare all the ingredients.

Wash the apricots, cut them in half, and remove the pits.

Transfer the apricots to a clean sterilized jar.

Pour boiling water into the jar right up to the edges. Cover with a lid (but do not screw it on) and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Drain the water into a saucepan. Add sugar and citric acid. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2-4 minutes, until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Pour the hot syrup back into the jar. Seal the lid tightly. Turn the jar upside down, wrap it in a towel, and let it cool down slowly. After that, the jar can be stored in a cool place.
