1. In a wide bowl, mix the starch, onion powder, and garlic powder.

3. Cut the squid bodies into rings. Do not cut the tentacles.

4. Beat the egg in a small bowl with a whisk; you can add a little water. Slip a calamari ring onto a fork and dip it in the egg.
