Sausages in sauce
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Kupeks are a special type of raw sausages that require cooking. This is my grandmother's recipe. I remember how we used to make kupeks as a special ritual when I was a child, and then devoured them at lightning speed—they were so delicious. But for home preparation, an essential ingredient is usually missing—pig intestines. Here's my simplified version. Serve hot.
Instructions

Step 1

To prepare sausages in sauce, we need to take the sausages themselves (semi-finished product). Without cutting off the strings, wash them under running water and let them drain well. We don't need excess moisture.

Step 2

In a pan, add vegetable oil and fry the sausages on both sides. It's important to brown the sausages thoroughly on each side. They might still be a bit raw inside at this point. After frying, cut the sausages into several pieces. You can slice them into rounds, or cut them as shown in the photo.

Step 3

In a bowl, mix 1.5 cups of tomato juice and one tablespoon of tomato paste, add a little salt, sugar, and spices to taste. I used oregano.

Step 4

Return the sausages to the pan. Pour the tomato sauce over them. Simmer the sausages in the tomato sauce for about 20 minutes.

Step 5

Then serve the ready sausages with sauce. No matter how many you make, it will never be enough—they are that delicious!
