Strawberries in syrup for winter
Description
A simple way to preserve it for later. For me, as for many others, this berry is one of my favorites, so I gladly preserve it, and today I’ll share what I think is the best option with you. Store in a cool, dark place.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, gather the berries and select ripe, intact strawberries.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the selected berries in a basin or deep bowl in small batches so as not to damage them.
- 3
Step 3

Then carefully remove the stems from the berries.
- 4
Step 4

Now arrange a layer of strawberries in a wide, deep dish and sprinkle it with a small amount of sugar, then add another layer of berries and sprinkle that with sugar as well. The final layer of strawberries should be sprinkled more generously with sugar, about 1 cup. Place the dish with berries in the refrigerator for about 10–12 hours.
- 5
Step 5

When enough syrup has formed in the container with the berries, you can proceed with the rest of the preparation.
- 6
Step 6

Place the strawberries in sterilized jars prepared in advance and pour the syrup over them. Next, sterilize the strawberries directly in the jars for 10–15 minutes from the moment the syrup comes to a boil.
- 7
Step 7

Seal the jars with lids, wrap them in a blanket, and let them cool; then move them to storage in a cool, dark place.
- 8
Step 8

In winter we open the jars and enjoy the most delicious dessert. Bon appétit, everyone!
