1. Beat 9 tablespoons of butter with sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add sour cream and vanilla, mix well.

3. Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan and smooth it out. The batter should not fill the pan more than halfway.

4. Bake at 175 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a rack.

5. Slice the strawberries in half. Place them in a bowl and sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of sugar. Mix and let stand for 30 minutes.

6. After 30 minutes, mash half of the strawberries with a fork, adding another tablespoon of sugar. Sprinkle the remaining strawberry halves with 1 tablespoon of sugar and let stand for another 30 minutes.

7. Make the frosting: mix cream cheese, 2 sticks of butter, sifted powdered sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.

8. Cut the cake in half through the middle. Spread the strawberry puree evenly over each half (on the cut sides). Place the cake halves in the freezer for 5 minutes.
