
Strawberry cascade
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The dessert known as "cascard" in Britain is a round-shaped pie with the filling placed on top. It turns out very tasty and doesn't require much effort to prepare. Suitable for both beginner cooks and experienced ones.

Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Sift the flour and add sugar. Add the fat and mix until crumbs form. Add water to form a firm dough. The dough should be stiff. Chill in the refrigerator for at least half an hour. Roll out to fit the size of the pan and prick with a fork in several places. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Let cool.

2. Mix 3 tbsp of milk, flour, and sugar, add the yolks and the remaining milk, and whisk until smooth.

3. Heat the mixture until it thickens and boils. Let it cool.

4. Pour the mixture over the cooled dough.

5. Cut the strawberries in half and arrange them on top of the mixture. Heat the jam with 1 tablespoon of water and pour it over the strawberries. Return the charlotte to the refrigerator until ready to serve. Cut into six pieces and serve with cream of your choice.
