Strawberry jelly for winter

Description

The recipe won't take much time. If you have an abundant strawberry harvest, be sure to preserve some for winter. Opt for jelly, as it contains much less sugar than regular classic jam. This means it's healthier. Serve chilled.

    Wash the strawberries and dry them. Remove the stems and transfer the berries to a blender. Wash the fresh basil, pick the leaves, and add them to the strawberries.

    Finely blend the strawberries with fresh basil in a blender. Transfer the resulting mixture to a saucepan or a small pot.

    Put food-grade gelatin into a small bowl. Pour cold water over it and let it stand for fifteen minutes to allow the gelatin to swell.

    Add granulated sugar to the container with strawberry purée, mix all the ingredients, and place on the stove. Cook for about twenty minutes, then pour in the gelatin and stir.

    Sterilize the jars and lids by your preferred method, then fill the jars with strawberry jelly. Seal with the lids and let cool to room temperature. Store the jars in a cool, dark place.
