Classic vanilla sauce

Description

An aromatic and delicious sweet vanilla sauce is perfect for serving with golden baked goods such as pancakes, waffles, cookies, buns, etc. You can add it when preparing cakes, cupcakes, and trifles. The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for 1 day. Serve the sauce with meat, fish, or use it as a salad dressing.

    Prepare the listed ingredients. Instead of milk, you can use 10% or 15% cream.

    Pour milk or cream into a saucepan or pot with a non-stick bottom. Cut the vanilla pod in half and scrape out the seeds with a knife. Add both the seeds and the pod to the milk. Heat to 60-70 degrees Celsius and then turn off the heat.

    Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve and remove the used vanilla pod.

    Place the chicken egg yolks in a deep container, then add granulated sugar and salt.

    Whisk everything with a whisk until the mixture turns pale, about 3-5 minutes. If using eggs from free-range hens, the mixture will remain bright yellow due to the yolk color.
