Classic Italian Pizza
Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. Classic Italian pizza is made with yeast dough. To ensure the pizza bakes well and tastes delicious, it should be rolled out thinly. Classic Italian pizza bakes quickly, in up to 10 minutes. The filling is usually pre-cooked; since the dough is thin and bakes fast, it's enough for the cheese to start melting. The baking is complete. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Let's start the preparation with the dough. Prepare all the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Sift the flour and add salt. On the work surface, form a depression in the flour.
- 3
Step 3

Dissolve sugar and dry yeast in warm water, stir and let it sit for about 20 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Then pour the diluted yeast with sugar into the center of the flour mound. Carefully knead using a fork.
- 5
Step 5

I recommend doing this gradually so the liquid doesn't spread; let the flour absorb it first, then start kneading.
- 6
Step 6

Grease your hands with vegetable oil and knead the dough. It should be smooth and elastic.
- 7
Step 7

Grease a bowl with vegetable oil, place the dough in it. Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise for an hour.
- 8
Step 8

While the dough is rising, you can prepare a classic tomato sauce for pizza. Finely chop the garlic and basil. Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water for about a minute.
- 9
Step 9

Then peel the tomatoes and blend them into a puree using a blender.
- 10
Step 10

In a saucepan, simmer tomato puree over low heat until it thickens slightly. Then add garlic, basil, oregano, and black pepper to taste (you can also add other spices if desired). Cook for 30-40 minutes. If you want a richer sauce, add tomato paste.
- 11
Step 11

The dough has meanwhile risen and is ready for cooking. While we shape the flatbreads and prepare the filling, the sauce will have time to cool down. Prepare the ingredients for the filling.
- 12
Step 12

Grate the mozzarella on a grater. If the cheese is moist, spread it out on a board to dry slightly.
- 13
Step 13

Divide the dough into 3 parts. Roll out thinly (up to 3 mm), for convenience do this on parchment paper.
- 14
Step 14

Brush the flatbread with olive oil.
- 15
Step 15

Then spread a thin layer of tomato sauce.
- 16
Step 16

You can add any filling you like. Traditionally, it's prosciutto and olives. But you can make a pizza with bacon, onion, and just tomato sauce. In classic Italian pizza, the emphasis is on the dough, sauce, and cheese.
- 17
Step 17

Sprinkle the pizza with grated cheese. Place in a preheated oven at 190-200 degrees Celsius for 5-10 minutes. If the dough is rolled out thinly, the pizza will cook quickly.
- 18
Step 18

Cut the ready-made classic Italian pizza into portion pieces with a special knife. You can also add some fresh arugula before serving.
