Description

I want to warn you right away—I don't usually recommend mashing berries for kissel, although you can strain them if you wish before adding the starch. Still, in my opinion, it tastes better with whole berries. This recipe yields an excellent kissel with a rich aroma and flavor that both children and adults enjoy. Here's how to make blackberry kissel from frozen berries: 1. Pour 3 cups of water over the blackberries and place on the stove. Once it comes to a boil, reduce the heat and add sugar. 2. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely and cook for about 5 minutes. 3. Dissolve the starch in 1 cup of water and pour it into the boiling mixture. 4. Cook for another 5 minutes, then stir the kissel once more and let it cool slightly. The blackberry kissel is ready! ;) Serve chilled.
