Marzipan Cake
Description
It goes perfectly with tea and coffee. I highly recommend making this cake—I’m sure it will become a frequent guest at your table. The cake stays soft for a long time even without wrapping. You can make marzipan yourself; if you want a pattern in the cake, use colored marzipan instead of plain marzipan. Baking is done. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients you need to make a cake with marzipan. I have a marzipan bar in chocolate, but that’s even better. Take the butter out in advance so it softens.
- 2
Step 2

Combine soft butter with the sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
- 3
Step 3

Crack an egg into the bowl with the creamed butter and beat until light and fluffy.
- 4
Step 4

Add the second egg and beat again until fluffy.
- 5
Step 5

Combine the flour with the baking powder and sift into the bowl with the beaten mixture. Mix everything until you have a uniform, soft dough.
- 6
Step 6

Grease a 12 by 22 cm loaf pan with vegetable oil and dust with breadcrumbs. Spoon in half of the batter and smooth it out. Cut the marzipan into pieces and arrange half of them over the batter.
- 7
Step 7

Cover the marzipan with the remaining dough, smooth it level, and arrange the remaining marzipan on top, pressing it down slightly.
- 8
Step 8

Place the pan with the cake in a hot oven and bake at 180 degrees for 35–45 minutes until done. Remove the pan from the oven, let it stand for 10 minutes, and take the cake out. Cool it completely and serve.

Step 9

The baking is ready. Serve with tea.
