Kefir-garlic sauce for shawarma
Description
The sauce takes just a few minutes to prepare. You can make the garlic sauce 1-2 hours in advance and store it in the refrigerator in a sealed jar or container. Be sure to let the sauce steep for some time, allowing the garlic flavor to fully infuse the liquid. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. You can use kefir of any fat content or mix it half and half with sour cream of any fat content to make the sauce thicker.

Step 2

Peel the garlic cloves and rinse them in water together with the green onion and parsley. Chop finely. If desired, the garlic cloves can be pressed using a garlic press.

Step 3

Pour the kefir into a deep container suitable for an immersion blender and add all the prepared chopped ingredients.
- 4
Step 4

Add salt and ground black pepper. Blend everything for about 2-3 minutes, lifting the slices from the bottom to ensure they don't remain sliced.

Step 5

Pour the sauce into a small bowl or sauce dish and chill for about 30 minutes. During this time, it will absorb the flavor and aroma of garlic, green onion, and parsley. Serve the sauce chilled with shawarma.
