Buckwheat and pumpkin porridge (cooked on the stove)
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. To make the pumpkin and millet porridge abundant, decorate it beautifully and in an unusual way. This porridge will be incredibly healthy and very attractive. If you're not preparing it for a child, simply serve it hot (it can be accompanied by hot tea). Sour cream serves not only an aesthetic purpose but also enhances the flavor of the millet and pumpkin. You can cook the porridge either in the oven or on the stovetop (both take the same amount of time). The ready dish can now be served.

Step 1

1. The most important part of this process is preparing the pumpkin. Wash the vegetable, then peel and grate it on a medium grater. Place it into a baking dish (if you're going to bake it) or into a pan with a non-stick bottom. I cook the porridge on the stovetop, so I use high-quality cookware with a thick bottom.

Step 2

2. Rinse the millet thoroughly and place it on top of the pumpkin. Now we need to bring the milk to a boil.

Step 3

3. Pour in boiled hot milk, add salt and sugar to taste. Now place over low heat and simmer until fully cooked.

Step 4

4. The porridge usually takes about 40 minutes to cook. Check doneness yourself, and if needed, add a little boiled water. After cooking, you can add a bit of butter to the porridge.

Step 5

5. My child doesn't really like porridge, but he happily eats this one. Decorate it nicely: arrange cheese strips around the porridge to symbolize sun rays, and in the center place sour cream shaped like a face (eyes and mouth). You'll get not just a beautiful dish for your child, but also an incredibly healthy treat.
