Description

This recipe won't take much time. I'd like to point out that this lentil porridge recipe works perfectly not only on the stovetop but also in a multicooker. If you have one, I highly recommend using it, as the porridge turns out incredibly delicious. Let's go step by step: 1. Pour a little vegetable oil into the bottom of the multicooker bowl and turn on the "Sauté" mode. 2. Peel the onion, chop it finely, add to the bowl, and sauté until lightly golden. 3. Add grated carrot (using a medium grater) to the bowl. You can also add sweet pepper or a tomato, for example. 4. Rinse the lentils under running water. Once the vegetables are sautéed, add the lentils to the bowl. If you're cooking on the stovetop, it's convenient to use a saucepan with a thick bottom. 5. Pour water into the bowl, enough to completely cover the lentils. 6. Add salt and, if desired, any spices you like. Mix thoroughly. 7. Set the multicooker to "Porridge," "Rice," or "Pilaf" mode (depending on your model). The minimum cooking time is 30 minutes, but you can extend it if you prefer a thicker lentil porridge. Serve the porridge hot as a side dish with meat or vegetables.
