Potatoes with onions in a pan
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Anyone can fry potatoes, you just need to know a few simple rules. For cooking potatoes with onions in a pan, it's better to use old potatoes rather than young ones, preferably yellow ones. Usually, one large onion is enough for me. I also like adding mushrooms and garlic—they make the potatoes more aromatic and delicious. Check out the recipe. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Wash, peel, and cut the potatoes. I cut them into julienne strips.
- 2
Step 2

Cut the onion into cubes.
- 3
Step 3

Garlic in slices and thinly.
- 4
Step 4

Fry the garlic and onion until golden brown. Set aside on a separate plate — now the oil has an onion flavor, and the onion itself won't burn.
- 5
Step 5

Now we start frying the potatoes. Don't salt them right away, otherwise they'll turn into mush. First, fry over high heat until a crust forms.
- 6
Step 6

Then reduce the heat and cover the potatoes with a lid.
- 7
Step 7

While the potatoes are finishing, we slice the mushrooms.
- 8
Step 8

Fry them separately.
- 9
Step 9

Finely chop the herbs.
- 10
Step 10

Add mushrooms, onions, garlic, and herbs to the potatoes, mix well, and fry for a couple more minutes.
- 11
Step 11

Serve the ready potatoes with onions from the skillet, salted and peppered. You can also add some fresh vegetables.
