Potato buns with cottage cheese
Description
Delicious baked treats for the whole family. Here is a simple recipe for potato buns with cottage cheese. You can use practically any filling you like—sweet onions and bacon, meat, mushrooms, fried vegetables, smoked salmon, etc. However, my favorite is still the one with cottage cheese. Place the ready buns on a serving plate in a heap, with sour cream served separately. You can also sprinkle them with finely chopped parsley on top. These buns are best enjoyed hot—they simply melt in your mouth. I usually serve them with borscht. Enjoy your cooking! Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Peel the potatoes and grate them. Squeeze out all the moisture by placing the potatoes in a cheesecloth and wringing out all the liquid.
- 2
Step 2

Mix the grated potato with the mashed potato. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Step 3

In another bowl, mix the remaining ingredients for the cheese filling (Parmesan, cottage cheese, onion, cream, salt/pepper).

Step 4

Take about ¼ cup of the potato mixture and form it into a patty. Then, take about 1½ teaspoons of the cheese filling and place it in the center of the patty. Shape the patty into an oval form. In a skillet, melt about 2 tablespoons of butter and fry the formed patties. Cook the buns over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
