Peel the potatoes and grate them on a coarse grater, then squeeze out the excess moisture thoroughly. Add the starch and mix.

Heat a large amount of oil. Place part of the potatoes in a metal colander or a wide strainer.

Lower the potatoes into boiling oil and fry the basket shapes for a few minutes.
