Potato patties with mushrooms
Description
My mom taught me how to make potato patties with mushrooms at home. In our house, this dish was one of the most anticipated ones during mushroom season. We used chanterelles, boletus, and of course, white mushrooms in our patties, and the dish always turned out wonderfully delicious. Anyway, if you decide to use mushrooms like button mushrooms in this simple potato patty recipe, I think it will still turn out pretty good.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First of all, we should clean the mushrooms from debris, wash them, and remove the skin from the caps.
- 2
Step 2

After cleaning the mushrooms, they should be submerged in boiling water for 6-10 minutes, then cut into small pieces.
- 3
Step 3

In a skillet, melt the butter and sauté the mushrooms for a few minutes. Then add the chopped onion, cook everything together a little longer, and season the filling with salt and pepper.
- 4
Step 4

Boil the potatoes in salted water until fully cooked, then mash them into a puree. Once the mixture has cooled slightly, add the egg and spices, and mix everything thoroughly.
- 5
Step 5

Take a small piece of the prepared potato mixture (about the size of a chicken egg) and shape it into a flat patty. Place a bit of filling in the center of the patty, then bring together the edges of the potato mixture, sealing the filling inside and forming a ball. Repeat the same process with the remaining potato mixture.

Step 6

Next, coat the formed patties in breadcrumbs and fry them in vegetable oil until golden brown.

Step 7

Serve the finished dish with sour cream or a vegetable salad.
