
Potato pancakes in a steamer
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Potato pancakes can be served as a standalone dish or with meat. You can prepare potato pancakes with various fillings (cabbage, mushrooms, etc.). Preparation: Peel the potatoes, place them in a saucepan, and cover completely with cold water. Add salt and cook until tender. Drain the water and mash the potatoes until smooth. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrot. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan. Sauté the onion and carrot. Add the mashed potatoes and mix well. In half a cup of water, add salt and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Gradually add flour and knead the dough. Let the dough rest for 10–15 minutes. Shape the dough into small patties and cook in a steamer for 15–20 minutes. Sprinkle the cooked potato pancakes with oil, season with pepper, and top with chopped herbs. Serve immediately while hot.
