Baked potato casserole with liver in the oven
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. Potato casseroles can be made with meat, fish, or mushrooms. But the version with liver is less popular—and that's a pity! Liver and potato casserole turns out especially tasty with chicken liver, as it is less dry and cooks faster. We'll also need a small carrot and onion to prepare this liver and potato casserole in the oven. The vegetables enhance the liver's flavor, making it richer. The baking is ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, boil the potatoes (I used 5 medium-sized ones) and prepare mashed potatoes. It's better to make more, so there will be leftovers, than to have too little.
- 2
Step 2

Chop the onion into small cubes and grate the carrot on a grater. Fry the vegetables in vegetable oil until soft and golden.
- 3
Step 3

Meanwhile, wash the liver thoroughly, remove the films and veins, cut into small pieces, and add to the vegetables in the pan.

Step 4

Do not overcook the liver, otherwise it will become very dry. You can lightly grease the baking dish with butter. Start with a layer of mashed potatoes, then add the fried liver with vegetables, and then another layer of potatoes. Optionally, spread mayonnaise or sour cream on top and sprinkle with grated cheese.

Step 5

Place in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for half an hour (or 40 minutes). When a golden crust appears, you can take it out.
- 6
Step 6

Serve the ready-made potato casserole with liver slightly cooled, with herbs or sour cream.
