Potato casserole with minced meat and cheese
Description
The recipe won't take much time. You can use pork, beef, turkey, chicken, or a mixed meat mince for this dish. The meat sauce is best prepared on a tomato base—this will make the casserole tastier and juicier. Serve hot.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Peel the potatoes. Cut each into 4 pieces. Cover with boiling water and start cooking without salt. Add salt to taste at the end of cooking. Drain the water. Let cool slightly.

Step 2

2. Finely chop the onion into small cubes.

Step 3

3. Sauté the onion in vegetable oil. When the onion turns slightly golden, add the minced meat. Stir and cook the meat together with the onion. I recommend adding a little water (3-4 tablespoons).

Step 4

4. Place the potatoes in a greased baking dish. Spread evenly.

Step 5

5. Add salt, spices, and tomato juice to the minced meat. Simmer for another 10 minutes. Add sugar if necessary to reduce the tomato's acidity.
- 6
Step 6

6. Place the tomato-meat sauce on top of the potatoes.

Step 7

7. Grate the hard cheese on a grater. Evenly distribute it over the future casserole. Sprinkle with herbs on top if desired.
- 8
Step 8

8. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes.
