Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Step 2

Wash the chicken breast, dry it with a paper towel, and cut into 2 by 2 cm pieces. Transfer to a bowl. Add salt and spices. Let it sit for a while.
- 3
Step 3

Cut the onion in half. Finely dice one half. Heat 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan, add the diced onion. Sauté over medium-low heat until lightly browned and soft.
- 4
Step 4

Add the sliced chicken fillet to the prepared onion. Fry for 5 minutes, stirring.
- 5
Step 5

Grate the peeled potatoes on a fine grater. Squeeze out the juice slightly, but not too much, otherwise the dish will turn out dry. Transfer to a bowl. Grate the second half of the onion on a fine grater and mix with the potatoes.
- 6
Step 6

Mix the chicken and potatoes. Add salt if necessary. Add 2 tablespoons of sour cream, 1 tablespoon of flour. Mix well.
- 7
Step 7

Grease a large baking dish with butter and dust with flour. Place the potatoes and chicken in the dish, spreading them evenly. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 50 minutes.
- 8
Step 8

15 minutes before it's done, take the dish out of the oven. Brush the top of the potato cake with 2 tablespoons of sour cream and put it back into the oven until the baking process is complete.
- 9
Step 9

After the time has elapsed, remove the pan from the oven. Check for doneness with a wooden skewer; it should come out dry.
- 10
Step 10

Serve the ready potato casserole with chicken hot, with sour cream.
