Pork stewed with potatoes
Description
The recipe won't take much time. To stew potatoes with meat, you don't need much effort: just a pot or cauldron, meat, meat spices, and of course, potatoes. I also add bacon at the beginning (fry it to get a pleasant aroma). But this is completely optional; you can easily do without bacon when preparing potatoes stewed with pork. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, cut the bacon into cubes and lightly fry in a cauldron or a deep pot.
- 2
Step 2

Bacon will add a pleasant aroma to the dish. Then pour in the vegetable oil and add the meat, cut into cubes, to the bacon.
- 3
Step 3

Squeeze the garlic and add it to the meat as well. You can also finely chop the garlic. Mix, cover with a lid, and simmer over medium heat.
- 4
Step 4

Meanwhile, chop the onion into cubes. After 10 minutes, add the onion to the meat.
- 5
Step 5

Continue cooking until the onion becomes soft and golden in color.
- 6
Step 6

Pour in a glass of water (you can add more, depending on how liquid you like your stew; I prefer my stew with plenty of broth, so I add more water). Add bay leaf, black peppercorns, and other spices. Cover with a lid and simmer for about 10-12 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Meanwhile, peel and dice the potatoes. Add them to the meat.
- 8
Step 8

Simmer over medium heat until the potatoes are cooked, don't forget to season with salt to taste.
- 9
Step 9

At the end, when the potatoes are cooked, add chopped herbs and let it simmer for another 5 minutes. You can turn off the heat.
- 10
Step 10

Serve the pork stewed with potatoes with freshly baked black bread.
