Potatoes stuffed with ham and cheese
Description
Recipe for preparing ham and cheese stuffed potatoes – simple, though a bit labor-intensive: 1. Take 4 large potatoes, preferably of uniform shape. Wash them thoroughly and dry. Carefully wrap each potato in foil and place in a preheated oven for 50–60 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick or wooden skewer. 2. When the potatoes are soft, remove them from the oven and let cool slightly. Cut each potato in half (without removing the foil). Use a teaspoon to carefully scoop out the center, leaving about 0.5 cm of potato on the sides. Add soft butter and mash well with a fork. 3. Dice the ham into small cubes. 4. Grate the cheese finely. 5. Press the garlic through a garlic press or grate it. 6. Add the ham, cheese (reserve some for topping), and garlic to the mashed potatoes. Mix well. 7. Gradually add sour cream or yogurt, mixing thoroughly. The filling should be neither too dry nor too runny. 8. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 9. Fill the potato halves with the prepared mixture and return to the oven for about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the reserved cheese. Place back in the oven until the cheese melts. 10. Remove the potatoes from the oven and discard the foil. Homemade ham and cheese stuffed potatoes are ready to serve.
