Caramel Apple Pudding
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Mix apples in a small bowl with lemon juice and set aside. Grease individual baking molds with butter. Cut bread into eight slices, each slice into 4 pieces, and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together cream, eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla, and nutmeg. Add the bread and mix well. Place 1 tablespoon of caramel sauce into each baking mold. Add about 1/3 cup of the apple mixture, then 1/3 cup of the bread mixture. Add a second layer of sauce, apple mixture, and bread mixture. Cover the molds with foil and bake in a water bath for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 20 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes, then turn the puddings out onto serving plates. Serve warm with the remaining caramel sauce or chilled.
