Caramel apple
Description
The recipe won't take much time. If you're curious, serve chilled.
Instructions

Step 1

Wash the apples and dry them thoroughly with a paper towel. Insert sticks into them. You can use disposable sticks meant for Chinese food. Choose any apple variety you prefer, but it's better if they are sweet-tart. For example, "Granny Smith" works well.

Step 2

Put the apples in the freezer. Take a saucepan with high sides. Add sugar to it, then pour in water and corn syrup.

Step 3

Add the coloring agent to the saucepan. This recipe uses a natural food coloring based on squid ink. It is completely safe for health and does not cause allergies, so this dish can be given to small children.

Step 4

Place the saucepan on the stove, turn the heat to maximum, and heat the caramel to 130 degrees. When it starts to boil and bubble, remove the saucepan from the heat; otherwise, the caramel will begin to burn quickly later on.

Step 5

Take the apples out of the freezer, dip them one by one into the hot caramel while holding them by the skewer. Rotate the skewer clockwise. The caramel will set quickly because the apples have been thoroughly chilled in the freezer beforehand.
