Caramelized Cherries
Description
Cherries can be used in baked goods in any form. Of course, the best and healthiest option is fresh cherries. But, alas, that's only possible in summer. One method I'd like to suggest for using cherries in baked goods during winter is caramelizing them. The advantage of this method is that you can prepare exactly as much cherry filling as you need for a cake or pie, rather than preserving them in liter jars. You can buy frozen cherries at any supermarket. The rest is just technique. The recipe is simple, accessible, and requires minimal time.
