Cabbage schnitzel

Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. If you want to make it more filling, you can stuff the schnitzels with cheese. Simply slice your favorite cheese into pieces about 0.5 centimeters thick. When folding the breaded sheets into a pocket, place a piece of cheese in the center. In the same way, you can add pieces of chicken or ham as filling. These schnitzels are delicious served with fresh sour cream. The ready dish can now be served.

    First, prepare the cabbage leaves. To make them easier to separate, cut out the core from the cabbage. Then, separate 6 large leaves. In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a boil and blanch the cabbage leaves in it for 2 minutes.

    Beat the eggs with salt and pepper. Prepare the breadcrumbs. If the leaves have a tough base, lightly pound it with a mallet. Dip each leaf into the egg, then into the breadcrumbs. Repeat this twice. Roll the leaves into little envelopes.

    Heat several tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan. When the oil is hot, add the cutlets and start frying. Fry for 1-2 minutes on each side.

    Place the fried schnitzels on paper towels. Let them sit for a minute to drain excess oil. Then transfer the cooked schnitzels to plates and serve warm.
