Cabbage Bread
Description
Perfect with tea and coffee. To prevent the cabbage from changing color during frying, do not increase the heat. Also, don’t forget to remove the garlic cloves. Fragrant, soft bread with a delicate crust is great to serve with first courses. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Shred the cabbage into thin strips.
- 3
Step 3

Peel the garlic and crush it with a knife.
- 4
Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a roasting pan, transfer the cabbage and garlic into it. Sauté over low heat, without allowing any change in color.
- 5
Step 5

Remove the cooked cabbage from the heat. Remove the garlic. Add a little salt, stir, and cool completely.
- 6
Step 6

Dissolve the yeast in warm water, add a pinch of salt and sugar each. Leave for 10 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

In a bowl, combine the flour and the yeast mixture. Start mixing with a spoon.
- 8
Step 8

Add the chilled cabbage and knead the dough. The dough kneads very easily.
- 9
Step 9

Round the finished dough, cover it with a towel, and leave it in a warm place for 1 hour.
- 10
Step 10

After this time, the dough will increase slightly, but it will feel very soft and airy to the touch. Punch it down.
- 11
Step 11

Grease an oblong pan with a thin layer of vegetable oil. Place the dough in it and make cuts on the surface. Cover with a towel and leave to rise for 30 minutes.
- 12
Step 12

After the time has elapsed, place it in a preheated 180°C oven and bake for 25–30 minutes. Take into account the specifics of your oven!
- 13
Step 13

When the time is up, take the bread pan out. Transfer it to a board and let it cool.
- 14
Step 14

Done. Serve to the table.
