Description
A very tasty, juicy, and tender dish. I highly recommend it to all cabbage lovers in any form! You can serve it both warm and cold. Enjoy it on its own with your favorite sauce or as a side dish. The ingredients are simple and easily available, yet the result is excellent. The fried onion bits turn out incredibly delicious and pair perfectly with the cabbage. Give it a try!
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Cut the cabbage into segments. To prevent the leaves from falling apart, try to cut so that the core remains intact at the bottom.
- 3
Step 3

Boil the cabbage in salted boiling water for about 5 minutes. I had fresh cabbage, so I immersed it in boiling water for no more than a minute.
- 4
Step 4

Slice the onion into thin strips and coat them in flour, trying to cover each strip completely.
- 5
Step 5

Fry in a pan until cooked through.
- 6
Step 6

Add sugar and soy sauce. Add pepper and salt to taste, if desired. Cook the onions for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 7
Step 7

Prepare a batter from eggs, flour, and salt.
- 8
Step 8

Heat oil in a skillet, dip the cabbage into the batter and place it in the skillet.
- 9
Step 9

Sear the cabbage over medium heat on both sides until a golden crust forms.
- 10
Step 10

When serving, place the fried onion bits on top of the cabbage. Cabbage schnitzels with fried onions are ready.
