Cabbage turnovers in the oven
Description
I suggest using ready-made yeast dough. If you don't have any or don't feel like making it, any other dough will work just fine—puff pastry, for example. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Shred the young cabbage thinly.
- 2
Step 2

Slice the onion into half-rings. Fry the onion in vegetable oil first until soft.
- 3
Step 3

Add the cabbage, immediately stir and sauté everything together. Stir occasionally. Cook until done. Season with salt and pepper.
- 4
Step 4

Take yeast dough. You can use store-bought or homemade. Lightly dust it with flour for easier handling.
- 5
Step 5

Divide the dough into small pieces. Each piece of dough is enough for 1 pastry.
- 6
Step 6

Roll out the dough into a flat round. Place 1 tablespoon of cabbage filling in the center.
- 7
Step 7

Join the edges of the dough and shape the roll. Pinch the edges well so that the roll doesn't crack along the seam during rising and baking.
- 8
Step 8

Brush each bun with beaten egg yolk. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Bake the buns until done on the middle rack of the oven. They will be ready in 15 minutes (or about that).
