Cabbage French-style
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. When serving, cut the stuffed cabbage into pieces—they look very attractive! You can use pork or beef mince, boiled chicken, rabbit meat, etc. If desired, you can mix any spices or herbs into the mince to taste, as well as grated hard or soft cheese. The finished dish is ready to be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Boil or fry the pork in advance until fully cooked.
- 2
Step 2

Place the cabbage into a pot with a larger diameter, pour hot water over it, and boil for about 20-25 minutes, making a few punctures halfway into the vegetable; otherwise, it will remain raw inside!
- 3
Step 3

Cut the boiled meat into small cubes, put the pieces into the blender jar and grind. You can also use raw meat, but then it should be placed in very small amounts between the cabbage leaves.
- 4
Step 4

Mix the chicken egg white, salt, and ground black pepper into the minced meat mixture. The egg white is necessary to prevent the meat mixture from falling apart when slicing the dish.
- 5
Step 5

Peel the onion and rinse it in water, then chop into small cubes and sauté in a pan with vegetable oil for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- 6
Step 6

Mix the fried onion into the meat mixture.
- 7
Step 7

Remove the cabbage and transfer it to a container with ice water to cool it down, otherwise you'll burn your hands. Then take the boiled vegetable out onto a plate, cut out the core, and carefully separate it into leaves, unfolding it like a flower.
- 8
Step 8

Place a portion of the filling in the center, then cover it with the nearby leaves. Put a little filling on each leaf, close the leaves again, and so on, until you've filled all the cabbage. It should once again form a compact head.
- 9
Step 9

Wrap the cabbage head in foil and place it in a baking dish. If desired, sprinkle the dish with grated cheese on top. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the cabbage for about 25–30 minutes until golden brown, ensuring the chicken protein binding the filling is fully cooked through to the center.
- 10
Step 10

Remove the finished dish, unwrap it from the foil, and let it cool slightly.
- 11
Step 11

Place on a plate and cut into pieces before serving.
