One-Day Cabbage
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to make. What makes this recipe unique is not the set of ingredients or the cooking method, but the way the cabbage is cut. It’s very easy to cut this way—try it once and you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it like this before! Be sure to remember my recipe,
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Cut the cabbage in a special way — with a vegetable peeler. This produces a very fine shred, the cabbage stays very juicy, and it marinates quickly. You won't get it this fine with a knife or a cabbage slicer.
- 3
Step 3

Slice the pepper into matchsticks as thin as possible.
- 4
Step 4

Slice the onion into thin half-moons.
- 5
Step 5

Grate the carrots on a Korean carrot grater. You can use a regular grater, but it tastes better this way.
- 6
Step 6

Mix all the prepared vegetables, add salt, sugar, vegetable oil, and vinegar.
- 7
Step 7

Mix the cabbage; there is no need to press it too hard with your hands, as with regular cabbage. Put the cabbage in the refrigerator overnight. The next day it is already ready to eat.
- 8
Step 8

Here's what my cabbage looked like the next day. It softened slightly, but was still crunchy and juicy. The vegetable aromas blended together, and as a result it tasted wonderful!

Step 9

The appetizer is ready. Serve at the table.
