Christmas Tree Canapés from Puff Pastry
Description
A delicious appetizer for any gathering. Any meat works for this appetizer — dry-cured, cold-smoked; you can even use thinly sliced favorite sausage. The cheese doesn't have to be cottage cheese or cream cheese; hard cheese with a baked-milk flavor works great, for example, grated on the finest grater. The appetizer is ready. Serve immediately.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients. Thaw the dough in advance directly in the packaging.
- 2
Step 2

If necessary, lightly dust the parchment with flour, place half of the dough on it, and spread with cream cheese.
- 3
Step 3

Spread the cheese layer with sweet-and-sour sauce, preferably spicy.
- 4
Step 4

Place a layer of any thinly sliced cured meat.
- 5
Step 5

Cover with a second layer of rolled-out dough, and cut the piece into thin, long strips about 1 centimeter thick.
- 6
Step 6

Next, thread the dough onto bamboo skewers, shaping it into little Christmas tree forms. If desired, brush the pieces with beaten egg. Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven on the top/bottom setting for 20–25 minutes at 180–190°C.

Step 7

Let the baked goods cool, then garnish the top with a star made from carrot, bell pepper, tomato, or boiled beet.
